Femi Kuti: London-born and Lagos-raised Afrobeat saxophonist—and eldest son of legendary Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti—reunites with his longtime band The Positive Force for an evening of musical collaboration and improvisation. The Project: An Afrobeat-inspired reinterpretation of an iconic new wave album: Talking Heads’ Remain in Light. Expect to hear tracks like “House of Motion” and “Once in a Lifetime” cross-pollinated with West African musical elements, such as polyrhythmic percussion, lively horns, and funk-heavy rhythm guitar.
